We're seeking a proactive learner to assist our Human Resources team with recruiting and onboarding. This person should enjoy working in a team but be capable of working independently with little supervision. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, love working with people, and enjoy learning and taking on new tasks. Must possess an ability to complete tasks timely and accurately.

What You’ll Be Doing:

This person will perform a variety of services and will assist with HR-related projects to improve our processes and tools. Major learning objectives and projects could include assisting with recruiting efforts, training and retention.

General Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Make employee badges, create and maintain personnel folders.
  • Assist with recruiting activities including posting jobs, screening, interviewing, preparing recruiting materials, conducting reference and background checks, etc.
  • Assist with attendance policy administration.
  • Assist or lead employee relations activities.
  • Provide back-up within the department including policy/procedure interpretation and administration, employee relations, and recordkeeping. May perform other general administrative duties as needed.

Schedule: We are seeking a student to work 25-40 hours per week during the summer and possibly a flexible part-time schedule in the fall semester. May work up to eight hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Will primarily be day-time hours – schedule could be 7-4, 8-5 or some variation as needed by student and team.

NOTE: Student(s) selected will be contracted and employed through a local employment “temporary” agency.




Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Must have completed at least one year of college with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Is a good communicator with ability and desire to connect with and help people.
  • Strong computer skills including ability to learn ADP Workforce Now. Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience required.
  • Has local housing with ability to work onsite & commute to assigned facilities.

We may request:

  • at least two letters of recommendation from instructors or other school representatives;
  • a current copy of school transcripts; and
  • a statement demonstrating current enrollment in an educational institution and/or co-operative program.
