Plater / Plate Making / Printing

• Receives work and instructions from shift supervisor
• Checks all files and proofs coming into department for accuracy and completeness.
• Checks that all proofs have proper customer approval and that all corrections have been made and proofed.
• Prioritizes plating jobs to meet press schedule.
• Queues up jobs to be plated.
• Completes the Ready to Plate checklist.
• Logs in all plates used for each job in computer and enters the same amount on Plate Usage sheet.
• Handles plate remakes.
• Checks finished plates for scratch and blemishes and completes the Plating Checklist.
• Cleans and maintains all machines in plate making area.
• Performs tasks assigned by supervisor when there are no plates to be made.
• Keeps materials/supplies stocked at all times and notifies supervisor before supplies run short.
• Has a full understanding of plating processes and communicates well with press department.
• Knows and practices all company safety policies and procedures and promotes safe working practices throughout the department. Uses personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc.) as recommended by manufactures warning labels and/or SDS, when using chemicals.

• working at times under considerable pressure to meet deadlines and schedules, but being required to maintain a high level of accuracy at the same time,
