As the Vice President of Construction, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading all aspects of our construction operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires strategic thinking, effective leadership, and a deep understanding of the construction industry. Providing leadership to a team of construction professionals and coordination of complete alignment of departments under his/her responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the overall construction strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to the construction team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Customer Satisfaction:
- Deliver clean and complete homes that fulfill customers’ expectations.
- Communicate consistently, proactively and professionally with customers throughout the process.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing construction team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the construction department.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Quality and Safety:
- Establish a safety culture with team members and vendors; implement and uphold rigorous quality and safety standards.
- Conduct safety training and investigations, ensure OSHA compliance, and lead safety initiatives.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage construction budgets, ensuring cost-effective project delivery.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to control costs and improve profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a senior leader in the construction industry, with at least 3-5years of executive-level management.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing construction budgets.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems.
