The Fund Development Assistant at Homeless Solutions, Inc is responsible for all aspects of daily gift processing and timely acknowledgement of gifts for this social service nonprofit agency. This role will encompass a broad level of responsibilities ensuring the successful data management and regular maintenance of the Raisers Edge database, as well as other matching gift donor portals. This is a full time, exempt onsite position reporting to the Associate Director of Development. Hybrid remote work arrangements may be available.

This opportunity to participate in the inner workings of a successful fundraising team requires an interest in managing data and leveraging it to expand possibilities for increased donor revenue. The role requires strong technology skillsets, and an eagerness to expand knowledge base in the area of fund development and fund data management.

  • Maintain database integrity, accuracy and ease of use by adhering to current procedures and implementing changes as directed.
  • Monitor development staff data entry and provide feedback on integrity and usefulness of the information entered.
  • Continuous development and revision of database policies and procedures.
  • Gift processing and acknowledgment.
  • Manage the data flow between the Raiser's Edge database and event fundraising database, OneCause.
  • Maintain and update segmented email lists, postal mail lists and donor lists.
  • Work directly with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) on preparation and mailing of the annual President's Letter.
  • Manage monthly database maintenance tasks as assigned and recommend changes/upgrades when appropriate.
  • Assist in the creation of workflows and data automation when applicable.
  • Work directly with the ADOD on managing the monthly/sustaining donor program and new donor retention program.
  • Support the Development Staff in all aspects of Homeless Solutions' Development efforts.
  • Participate in staff meetings, skills development and special projects as directed.
  • Constituent research as required.
  • Exhibit strong personal accountability for awareness of and adherence to company standards, policies, procedures and processes in all aspects of employment with HSI.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and fundraising experience preferred, or applicable employment experience.
  • High level skillsets in Microsoft applications will be considered a plus including proficiency in Excel and mail merge features.
  • Proficiency in relational databases, Raisers Edge experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with matching gift donor portals is preferred, including OneCause, Online Express and JustGiving.
  • A proven aptitude for database management and interest in fundraising and database management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Highly self-motivated and experienced in managing multiple priorities.
  • Regular, punctual and predictable onsite attendance is an essential element of this role.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively as part of a team in an active and open office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Satisfactory results from regular, periodic background checks.
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time and be able to lift packages that are no more than 25 pounds of printed materials used in the scope of the job. Vision requirements include clarity of vision at close range.
  • Job requires participation in special events outside of the office environment and occasional visits to other company sites

Additional Information

Full time permanent staff of Homeless Solutions are eligible to enroll in fully paid medical, dental and life insurance coverage plans in accordance with HSI policies. In addition, all staff are eligible immediately upon hiring to participate in a 401k retirement savings plan, including up to a 6% company paid match. Generous PTO plans include paid personal, vacation and sick leave as well as 10 floating holidays annually.
