Position Summary: The Administrative/Community Protective Services Assistant supports Protective Service Workers and Supervisors through a combination of community outreach and administrative support. Duties include gathering information, maintaining resources and supporting urgent needs for Elders in the community.
Essential Functions:
- Support Protective Service Workers in gathering/requesting documents. Examples: police reports, birth certificates, bank records, etc.
- Assist Elders with housing applications. Mostly online or over the phone, but on occasion in person assistance may be necessary.
- Maintain team resources. This includes updating online resource list, ensuring emergency supplies for elders are stocked, maintaining logs for tech resources such as pocket talkers, researching and updating shelter and weather-related resources, maintaining police liaison information, etc.
- Deliver emergency resources to elders such as food, gift cards, prescriptions, etc.
- Complete administrative tasks as assigned. Including preparing and mailing letters daily.
- Complete referrals for PS staff to other agency programs.
- Document completed tasks and visits.
- Observe all confidentiality regulations and protect consumer information.
- Attend mandatory meetings and trainings including Team Meeting and General Staff Meeting
- Other duties as assigned by PS Supervisors
Qualifications: Associates degree preferred. Experience working with older adults, at-risk populations and/or mental health clients required. Proven ability to engage difficult and resistant populations preferred. High school diploma and a valid driver's license required; must have dependable car with adequate insurance for the state where the car is registered and up to date inspection. Basic word processing and computer skills required. Candidate must be able to lift and carry 35 pounds.
Hours: 37.5 per week
