As a member of our Design Development team, you will work closely with our award-winning designers to help our customers see their future projects in vivid detail. You’ll assist with pricing, layout, and selections as you generate detailed color renderings for our clients.

As a Senior Design Support Specialist, your thorough knowledge of cabinetry construction will help generate accurate cabinet pricing for kitchens, bathrooms and other residential spaces. High quality color renderings will help our customers understand the vision for their new space. Collaboration is key to growth and improvement and in this role you will also mentor junior staff members as they hone their pricing, drawing and Chief Architect skills.

Here are the highlights of your role:

• Collaborate with Normandy designers and architects to inform proposed design solutions
• Utilize Chief Architect software to create accurate and visually appealing drawings and renderings of residential spaces
• Review and revise drawings as necessary to align with client preferences and project scope
• Develop detailed cabinet pricing estimates based on project specifications and material selections
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, offering mentorship and training in best practices for design and software proficiency
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials and technologies to enhance design capabilities
• Maintain organized project files and documentation to facilitate smooth project execution and efficient communication across the team

Collaboration with our sales Designers, your fellow Design Development team members, as well as Architects and Project Superintendents from across the company means you are an integral part of transforming our customers’ homes into reimagined spaces they’ll love for years.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Minimum of 8 years experience in residential remodeling or similar industry
• Proficiency in Chief Architect software is required
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials and building codes, with an emphasis on NKBA standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams
• Proven track record of leadership and mentorship, with a passion for guiding and developing junior talent
• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy in all your work
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

In this hybrid role, you will work three days per week at our Hinsdale Design Studio, and up to two days per week at home. Salary is $55,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience and Chief Architect proficiency. Additionally, nearly every member of the team receives bonuses when their rendering work contributes to a customer signing a contract.
