Job Description

Medical Patient Coordinator

Houston MRI® & Diagnostic Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Patient Coordinator to join our East Houston team.

Houston MRI® & Diagnostic Imaging has been providing excellent diagnostic imaging tests since 1997. Providing high quality exams in a comfortable and affordable Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility is our focus. We are owned and operated by physicians that specialize in diagnostic imaging.

Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of patient care: assisting scheduling and confirming of appointments, greeting visitors and processing patients; assisting technologists in the processing patients; maintaining the imaging center clean to CDC and OSHA standards; patient confidentiality; medical insurance processing. Ensuring professional interaction and communication with the patient/family, center staff, referring physicians/staff and radiologists. This position will report to our Center located at 5630 East Sam Houston Pkwy. N. Houston, TX 77015

Status: Full - Time, hourly

Schedule: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays, 8 hours shifts available

Pay Range $16- $18 per hour


Essential Job Function


  • Responsible for the on-time opening and/or closing of center(s) to include, but not limited to locking and unlocking door(s) and setting alarm(s).
  • Confirmation and scheduling assistance of patient appointments on a daily basis; perform patient registration process, including demographics; maintain patient appointment log and patient information in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Answer phone and respond to inquiries; refer, route, or place calls; place patient follow-up calls; serve as receptionist, greeting and assisting visitors, patients, etc.
  • Prepare patient records for daily appointments; ensure all patient are updated and complete.
  • Maintain patient records, insurance information, and collect co-pays or deductibles.

Educational and Skill Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum one (1) year of work in the medical field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical office practices and procedures and ability to understand and follow Physician and Technologist requests.
  • Highly proficient with computers and internet
