This position works closely with Senior Management, Project Managers, R&D scientists, and Chemical Process Engineers on optimizing the design and performance of a patented solution that removes PFAS from water. This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers, developing the processes to deliver high-quality cost-effective designs, and for the professional development of the engineering team.

Essential Functions

  • Manages a team of engineers of varying experience levels, including performance management, merit planning, job assignment management/prioritization, career development, recruitment and new employee onboarding and coaching.
  • Close coordination with the R&D team working on identifying the next generation of improvements and applications for the solution.
  • Engages the functional team with timely flow-down of information and fostering robust collaboration within the team.
  • Collaborating with project team leads to support project planning and execution activities, labor and material cost estimation, staffing and design process execution.
  • Maintains awareness of each group member’s project responsibilities and performance, providing guidance, and helping them identify resources needed to overcome obstacles and meet project objectives.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of applicable design processes, guidelines, policies, and best practices, and ensures that all functional team members are aware of and are compliant with these items.
  • Supports and leads department initiatives, which could include process improvement, workforce engagement, training material development, technology roadmap development or cross-organization collaboration.
  • Provides technical analysis and support to a variety of projects for public and private sector clients.
  • Travels assisting in the field with construction, inspections, conducting pilots and full-scale remedial efforts, and participating in face-to-face client, technical, and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Design, develop, prototype, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Develops fabrication drawing and specifications for new parts or prototypes.
  • Identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products.
  • Early development of processes for integrating equipment and system designs with NuQuatic’s accounting system, for numbering, tracking, costing and inventory control of parts and third-party buy-out items.
  • Uses Solidworks and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products.
  • Develops task or project budget/resource plans and works with senior management and other functional leads, with the tracking and optimization of project-based profitability.
  • Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products.
  • Leads assigned projects to successful completion on time and on budget.
  • Effectively coordinates work and schedules with subcontractors.
Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Requires minimum 10 years of related experience working on complex projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading, collaborating, and building teams on complex technical projects.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional Engineer license is required.
  • US Citizenship

This is a full-time position with a standard, established schedule working day shift hours. Work supporting other shifts and locations may be required as operational needs demand.
