We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team! You will conduct inspections to determine the quality of materials and finished products as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Summary
To operate Inspection Measuring & Coordinate Equipment - Use IMCE to verify conformance of product to customer specifications.
Position Duties
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
· Verifies & documents completed machined features to customer prints & specifications for final product acceptance
· Inspects parts in-process on/off machines
· Perform receiving inspection of raw materials, off the shelf hardware, outsourced manufactured components and outside processing
· Performs First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 - (Final Inspection)
· Assists production in the qualification of machine set-ups
· Writes Internal Rejection Reports (IRRs) & red tags as needed
· Sets up necessary inspection measuring instruments
· Assists with Calibrations (internal/outsourced) to STADCO Procedures
· Help assemble final data packages per customer requirements
· Building customer confidence through inspector integrity
· Interfaces with operators, foremen, source representatives, government (DCMA), customers, engineering, programmers, production control, program managers, and outside suppliers/vendors, etc.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Skills:
· Proficient with (GD&T) ANSI Y 14.5
· Use of various standard measuring instruments (Able to set up & perform open surface plate inspection)
· Standard machine shop math & trigonometry
· Able to perform first article, in-process, & final inspection on large precision machined parts and assemblies
· Working experience with AS9100/AS9102 required
· Able to coordinate and/or perform calibrations to STADCO Work Instruction and Quality System Procedures
· Able to make sound judgment when checking machine set ups
· Able to accurately interpret customer P.O’s., specifications, design manuals, and engineering drawings
· Capable of accurately documenting/communicating discrepancies
· FaroArm (Verisurf) experience a plus
· Laser tracker (Verisurf) experience a plus
· Working knowledge of Net-Inspect a plus
· Working knowledge of Ideagen Quality Control (InspectionXpert) a plus
· High school graduate or equivalent
· 5 years minimum quality control experience in an aerospace machine shop environment
