Community Manager Overview:

We are seeking a full-time, exempt Community Manager to lead a community of residents and staff in one of our student-centered apartment communities. This crucial role assures a supportive environment for our residents/students while overseeing efficient and fiscally responsible operations of the community.

The Goose Hollow Community is comprised of both a tower and a plaza, so in some ways, it's a multi-site, but with no travel! This community is CHNW's longest-running property, having been a pillar of the Goose Hollow neighborhood since the tower was built in 1972. The plaza was added in 1999, and the community lies in a tree-lined, residential area close to public transit and within proximity to multiple local schools. Location: Goose Hollow neighborhood, SW Portland

Community Manager Duties:

  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to the teams at the community
  • Responsible for positive student engagement and services throughout the life cycle of tenancy
  • Manages and directs day-to-day leasing operations and related accounting
  • Proactively develops and implements new practices and trainings to support a culture of growth

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes, skills, and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or commensurate experience
  • 3-5 years of property management, student housing, or related experience
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing, Equal Housing Opportunity, and Oregon Landlord-Tenant law
  • Great time management
  • Collaborative nature
  • Strong communication skills
