The Planner Buyer supports demand and material planning schedules, working closely with the Production Planner in support of internal and external customer order demand and forecasts, ensuring that goods are produced on time and in full in accordance with quality and operational standards.

Your Work Matters.

Demand Planning

• Participate in the cross functional forecast process for a defined segment of the business.
• Execute monthly forecast including statistical forecast, incorporation of sales insight, POS data, and other qualitative and quantitative inputs.
• Identify key topics through metrics, analytics, and insights.
• Facilitate the cross functional discussions to develop a high-quality forecast at mid-levels and sku levels.

Material Planning

• Procure direct materials for assigned categories needed to meet production requirements at the Orrville manufacturing facility (e.g. packaging, ingredients, and re-sale)
• Review requirements and drive actions for items based off production needs: expedite, deferrals, cancelations, etc.
• Hold suppliers accountable for established metrics-On time delivery, cost, quality, etc.
• Drive for the best possible cost and delivery
• Confirm open orders with suppliers and ensure delivery dates are accurate
• Assist in setting up and maintaining stocking levels for key items.
• Work with suppliers to set up strategic initiatives (for example: cost outs, safety stocks, vendor managed inventories, Kanban)
• Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records

Supply Chain Events

• For assigned projects, coordinate cross functional efforts to accomplish the goals of that project. This could include a launch, execution of a seasonal program, a phase out, etc.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Supply Chain preferred)   

• 1 – 3 years’ experience in a supply chain related function in a manufacturing organization
• Comfortable with multiple systems and learning new systems

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• Must be flexible with ability to work additional hours as workload, schedules and timetables dictate  
• Generally, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM  
• Occasional weekends and holidays, as required   
• Position is on-site at manufacturing facility

Travel

• While performing the duties of this job the associate may be required to sit for an extended amount of time, work in a controlled office atmosphere and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

• Position requires listening carefully to others on the telephone
• While portions of this roles can be performed remotely a regular on-site presence is expected
