We are looking for an experienced CNC Prototype Operator to join our team. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world class products to our customers. In this position, you will Machine, fabricate, and assemble plastic products by applying material knowledge and characteristics of all plastic substrates. You will use industry standard bonding techniques, precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment to manipulate and create finished goods. This individual will read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations to meet all dimensional and finish specifications required.

Shifts available: Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:

  • a two year Technical or Trade school diploma or certification, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • a two years minimum related experience in the fabrication field required
  • an understanding of plastics (highly recommended)

On top of that you must:

  • be able to plan, prioritize, coordinate and manage own work in a fast-paced environment
  • have effective problem-solving skills, along with giving direction regarding problem resolution
  • have the ability to display high levels of customer service to both internal and external customers
  • be able to shift directions quickly and easily and meet demands through analysis and problem solving capabilities

In this position, you will:

  • create and maintain a safe environment for both self and others and comply with all OSHA regulations for the workplace
  • develop the detail process and the program for the machining of parts on CNC router which includes the selection of:

- available machine tool best suited for the part

- tooling package to be used to machine the part

- machine start-up assistance on new or revised programs as requested

- standard times for CNC machined parts

  • maintain an understanding of the 'state-of-the-art' on programming language and related hardware and software systems used in the print and plastics fabrication industry
  • develop and document a standard tool library for recall on like operations and set up an index of standard machining moves and routings
  • configure CNC by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; and calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
  • load machine with work pieces
  • set up tooling changes as needed and ensure the machine is in good working condition
  • verify the settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
  • perform in-process inspections and document results as required
  • maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • review engineered drawings ahead of prototyping for build ability and possible efficiency increases
  • proactively anticipate the internal and external client needs within each project to produce alternative solutions or a better way to build when obvious design challenges are encountered in time for review
  • verify that the prototypes are set up and manufactured in a manner that is production friendly; suggest and build alternative options
  • work with the Engineering teams and Project Managers to provide solutions to client needs and ensure TBG’s drawing standards are followed
  • provide feedback to Engineers to best communicate dimensions, techniques, tolerances, or considerations on their Engineered drawings
  • communicate with production teams on possible jigging techniques and considerations for production through pre-production unpack meetings etc
  • explore, research, and validate new techniques, capabilities, and processes for the Internal Fixtures Environment to serve client’s ever-evolving needs
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
