QUALITY COORDINATOR

Metal Sales is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 manufacturing locations across America.

Our Longmont, CO plant has an opening for a Quality Coordinator, and we are planning to hire quickly so submit your application today!

We are looking for a responsible Quality Coordinator to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.

The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.

The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment. That way our customers will enjoy high-quality merchandise so that we can achieve long-term success.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Quality control of product through measurements, visual inspection, and comparison with sales order specifications
• Approve or reject purchased finished goods with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
• Sample production parts and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparting to specifications, etc)
• Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day
• Verify and audit procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards
• Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any equipment that doesn’t meet requirements
• Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager or production manager

The most qualified candidates will have:

• Proven experience as quality coordinator or relevant role
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
• Responsible, trustworthy, and customer focused
• Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems
• Must be able to read a tape measure, a micrometer, and go-no-go gauges
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with at least an intermediate skill in Excel
• High School Degree; Further qualifications will be a plus
• Must be able to stand or walk approximately 7 ½ hours minimum per work shift
• Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months and be able to take protective measures
• Noise level in the plant may be moderate to loud
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently

Must have excellent written communication abilities, strong problem-solving capabilities, and solid attention to detail. In addition, they need to make quick decisions and learn the quality guidelines for each product within the production line.
