Position Overview:

The Main Line Technician is responsible for understanding and completing routine mechanical repairs required to recondition vehicles to a high company standard. In addition, the Technician will perform general repairs and diagnosis with assistance and adequately use the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle. Specific factory training is not required but is a plus. Areas of knowledge include but are not limited to engine, transmission, drivability, cooling system, brake system, electronics, steering and suspension, and HVAC.

Who You Are:

  • Dependable/ reliable and can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction
  • Detail-oriented – highly focused on the details and quality of work
  • Willing to learn with a minimum of 1 year of automotive experience (Dealership or Independent Repair shop)
  • A team player and interacts with managers and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Can function effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

Essential Functions:

  • Document all work performed and recommended on the assigned repair order
  • Perform accurate and efficient repairs on warrantied vehicles that have experienced a manufacturer recall
  • Communicate with the Service Manager when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be performed within the agreed time
  • Conduct road tests to determine the work required and to confirm work was accurately completed
  • Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
  • Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
  • Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
  • Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Groove Auto standards
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all customer interactions, co-workers, and vendors

Requirements:

  • Previous (1-2 years) of automotive technician experience
  • Toyota Certified
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a favorable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
  • Authorized to work in the United States
