Distributor Tac Truck Driver

We currently have an opportunity for Distributor Tac Truck Driver to join our highway paving team. We are seeking a hard-working motivated individual who is looking for a long-term career in the construction industry. This position does require travel to our projects throughout Montana.

Key Functions

• Safely drive and operate asphalt distributer truck equipped with tank to distribute tac on road surfaces
• Regulate burner to heat liquid and various pumps
• Monitor flow gauges, tachometer and temperature gauges for consistent distribution
• Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to machine before operation
• Maintaining appropriate paperwork and log books
• Knowledgeable of D.O.T regulations
• Conducting and documenting Pre-Trips and Post-Trips
• Observe and report mechanical and safety failures
• Complies with federal and state traffic laws
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing regularly
• When not operating the distributor truck other driving duties will be assigned
• Assist other crew members or complete other duties as assigned by the supervisors

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License is required
• One (1) Year or more of experience operating an asphalt distributor truck strongly preferred
• Mechanical Aptitude

• Must be able to work various shifts, days and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

• Entering and exiting the truck repeatedly entire shift
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and 25 lbs. regularly
• Push/Pull of up to 50 lbs. minimal of two (2) times a day
• Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement
• Sit and/or stand up for long periods of time
• Reach with hands and arms
• Bend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
• Climb ladders/steps
• Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrations

Compensation

• Hourly rate of pay $30+ based on experience, prevailing wage will apply to all federally funded projects

• Daily Per Diem when working away from Kalispell, MT
