Job description

CDL-A STEP DECK TRUCK DRIVER
Specialized Freight Calls for an Experienced Driver.
Step deck isn't ordinary OTR freight. You're working with loads that demand attention to securement, dimensions, routing, equipment, and the details that keep specialized freight moving safely.
Truck Driver Nation is accepting applications from experienced CDL-A drivers interested in current Step Deck and specialized open-deck driving opportunities.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Current openings may include:
• OTR Step Deck and specialized open-deck freight
• Weekly pay on qualifying positions
• Consistent freight opportunities
• Long-haul and multi-state operations
• Flatbed and Conestoga opportunities for qualifying drivers
• Newer-model equipment available on select positions
• Scheduled home-time options
• Travel or orientation assistance on select openings
Compensation varies by the specific available position, freight, driver experience, qualifications, and operating conditions. Complete compensation details will be provided before a driver accepts a position.
STEP DECK EXPERIENCE MATTERS
We're particularly interested in drivers who understand that specialized open-deck freight requires more than simply getting from pickup to delivery.
Relevant experience may include:
• Step Deck
• Flatbed
• Conestoga
• Oversize or over-dimensional freight
• Machinery and equipment
• Load securement
• Specialized open-deck freight
Drivers with strong flatbed experience who are interested in moving into Step Deck operations may also be considered for qualifying openings.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Valid Class A CDL
• Current medical card
• Safe driving record
• Ability to meet DOT and applicable motor-carrier requirements
• Professional and dependable communication
• OTR availability
• Open-deck experience strongly preferred
• Ability to properly understand freight securement requirements
Many current opportunities require approximately two years of CDL-A experience. Individual MVR, PSP, SAP, accident, and other qualification standards depend on the specific available position.
HOME TIME & OPERATING AREA
Available OTR schedules vary by position. Current opportunities may include approximately two to three weeks on the road followed by scheduled home time.
Operating areas and home-time requirements will be reviewed with qualified applicants before moving forward with a specific position.
FOR DRIVERS WHO KNOW OPEN DECK
If you've spent years learning how to secure freight, protect equipment, plan around dimensions, and handle the responsibility that comes with open-deck trucking, that experience has value.
We want to understand what you haul, where you're willing to run, what equipment you know, your home-time requirements, and what you're looking for in your next driving position.
APPLY
Submit your application through this posting. Your CDL experience, Step Deck or open-deck background, driving record, location, freight experience, and home-time requirements will be reviewed for applicable current driving opportunities.
SMS COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE
Applicants may choose to receive SMS/text messages from Truck Driver Nation regarding their application, application status, scheduling, and applicable driving opportunities. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of applying or being considered for a position.
