Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for performing patient-oriented procedures under the direction and supervision of a Medical Doctor to ensure safe and appropriate patient care. The MA assists the clinician with medical procedures (injections, etc.); should be proficient at drawing up medication, and performs a broad spectrum of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care.

This small clinic is looking for a self-motivated, flexible team player, who is willing to assist the physician with procedures and also willing to help the team with administrative duties.

This position is part-time and will be 3 days a week from 8:15am - 5pm (hours may vary slightly depending on patient appointments). In general the schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Extra hours on Tuesday may be available. Clinic is located in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, NV. 

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms with necessary instruments for patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments
- Assist physician with injections
- Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages

- Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
- Answer phone calls from patients and schedule appointments
- Assist with filling medication refills

Successful Candidate Should Have:
- 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting (Orthopedic Experience Preferred)
- Experience using an EHR system (Preferred)
- Medical Assisting Certification/Degree (Required)
