Role Description:

This is a full-time forward-facing role that is an on-site role. The Sr. Economist and Director of Economic Competitiveness serves the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates. The Sr. Economist and Director of Economic Competitiveness will oversee the economic research and analysis function, provide insights on macroeconomics and industry trends, and utilize analytical skills to support economic development strategies. This role will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive economic competitiveness and enhance the overall economic climate of the Denver Metropolitan Area.

Qualifications:

  • Min 7-10 years' experience providing Economic Research, Macroeconomics, and Economics skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis

  • Deep understanding of economic principles and trends

  • Ability to generate insights from complex economic data

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in economic policy development and implementation

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Economics or related field

Skills:

  • Candidates should have refined interpersonal skills, exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, solutions-oriented, demonstrates personal integrity, confidence, diplomacy, and flexibility.  

  • The ability to meet hard deadlines and provide deliverables on schedule. 

  • Readily establishes relationships and strong lines of communication with other economists, business leaders, government officials, and the public to present research and findings as it relates to the state of the economy.

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to audiences from 10 - 900.

  • Working knowledge of Python, R, Stata, EViews, Matlab, and SAS

  • Comfortable leveraging new technology, excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products (SharePoint, Teams, Word PowerPoint, and Excel is essential). 

  • Is an innovator, leveraging and interpreting the data and analysis while curating unique insights and perspectives.

  • The acumen and ability to develop the economist team.
