ACARA Solutions and our client in Scottsdale, AZ have a contract to direct hire position available.

Sr. Advanced Systems Administrator Specialist 2 (IT Infrastructure & DevOps)

**Secret Clearance is required at the time of hire**

Experience with implementing Linux/Windows security controls to maintain system compliance.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Implement Linux/Windows security controls to ensure system compliance.
    • Serve as a front-line interface for users, addressing technical issues through systems analysis and development to keep systems up to date with evolving technologies.
    • Maintain and advance DevOps infrastructures utilized by various Programs.
    • Install new software, troubleshoot issues, and grant permissions to applications.
    • Provide day-to-day support for server services, including server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems.
    • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual hardware and network interfaces on servers.
    • Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor server performance using monitoring tools.
    • Act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams, defining requirements, architectures, and engineering solutions for IT systems.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.
    • Proven experience in implementing Linux/Windows security controls.
    • Strong proficiency in maintaining and advancing DevOps infrastructures.
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
    • Experience with server administration for both physical and virtual server operating systems.
    • Familiarity with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and network interfaces on servers.
    • Knowledge of OS and vendor software patching procedures.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum of 8 years experience with implementing Linux/Windows security controls to maintain system compliance.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Advanced knowledge of VDI, RedHat Linux, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, application environments, and related technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting, and scripting.
  • Proficient with developer tools/concepts/scripting/methodologies/infrastructure - Jira, Confluence, GitLab, CI/CD, HELM, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Kubernetes Manifests, Ansible, Vault, Python, Powershell, Bash.
  • Proficient with Tenable Nessus, and Splunk.
  • Define and build different development, testing, and production environments.
  • An ability to architect, deploy, and continuously maintain secure, reliable, and flexible best practice infrastructures and systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert in researching and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with compliance controls: STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, NIST SP 800-171/800-53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), System Security Plans.
  • Ability to engineer with system security as number one priority.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adopt new technologies while continuously developing yourself.
  • Handle all levels of support with ability to collaborate and communicate with those of varying levels of technical skill.
  • Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and strong motivational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills from a variety of viewpoints.

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
