Job Description

Position: Booking Agent

Location: Miami, FL (Coral Gables)

Hours Worked: 40+ hours

Salary Range: $65,000 -$90,000

Job Type: Entry-level

Traveling Requirement: 40% travel both domestically & internationally

Reports to: Booking Director

What You Will Bring to the Table:

The primary responsibilities of the Booking Agent are to act as CMN’s representative for all things booking. The Booking Agent is a direct liaison between the performers and their team, promoters, and venues both domestically/internationally. This individual works closely with various departments including Touring & Booking, Finance, Media, and Legal. Individuals successful in this role have an excellent and ongoing knowledge of the music industry, current music trends/artists with an emphasis on the Latino market, successful in securing tours and performance appearances, and continually seeks opportunities to grow the organization by developing/maintaining client relationships.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Negotiates fees with promoters and other booking agents to secure tour and/or performance engagements for CMN’s diverse booking roster
  • Generates budgets/reports for approval to upper management for each engagement before, during, and after the execution of each engagement
  • Develops budgets that meet contractual requirements, the expectations of the talent, and stay within the costs outlined for each deliverable
  • Works with multiple departments to ensure protocols are executed promptly and accurately:
    1. Legal – contracts are error free and negotiated provisions are outlined accurately
    2. Finance –
      • Ensure payments are sent to promoters to execute engagement
      • Ensure payments are sent to artists for completing their engagements
    3. Marketing & Media – work with the promoting team to oversee and approve all marketing and media plans and ensure they align with CMN and artist standards
    4. Booking team – work with project managers in charge of executing the engagements to make sure that logistics are done correctly and on time. Other tasks might include scheduling and routings, scaling and ticket inventory, reporting, staffing, and production resources to name a few.
  • Maintains consistent communication with management and other talent personnel in connection with bookings, concerts, tours, festivals and other business opportunities
  • Develops touring and/or booking strategies to support touring/booking department
  • Continually seeks opportunities to grow the organization by developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Completes other tasks/responsibilities as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A bachelor’s degree communications, business, or related field OR 3+ years of booking agent experience in live music events
  • Bilingual verbal and written Spanish (required)
  • Strong network of contacts in the music business with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and the entire Microsoft Suite
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a confident/assertive demeanor in relation to negotiations and professionalism
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent and ongoing knowledge of the music industry and current music trends
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with office applications and apple devices
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to execute projects on time and within budget
  • Comfortable working in high pressure environment with strict deadlines
  • Available to travel 40% of the time with or without advance notice as required to meet client needs
  • Available to extend hours and work weekends when needed to meet client needs and deliverables
