Air Export Coordinator

Location: Atlanta, GA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM (additional hours as needed)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Air Export Coordinator to manage and coordinate international air export shipments from origin through final departure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, air export operations, customer service, and regulatory compliance. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage air export shipments from booking to departure.
  • Prepare and process export documentation, including airway bills and customs-related paperwork.
  • Arrange airline bookings and monitor shipment schedules to ensure on-time departures.
  • Track and trace shipments, providing proactive updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, overseas agents, carriers, and vendors.
  • Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, TSA requirements, airline policies, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and system data within CargoWise or similar transportation management systems.
  • Coordinate with warehouses, trucking companies, and internal departments to support shipment execution.
  • Assist with rate requests, billing support, and operational reporting as needed.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • 3โ€“5 years of air export experience within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of air export documentation, airline booking procedures, and export compliance requirements.
  • Experience using CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software.
  • Dangerous Goods (DG/IATA) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines.
