This associate must be in good standing in their current role and be a team player with a "can-do" attitude!

Responsibilities - The Accounting Associate performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in our accounting department including:

• Perform daily payroll department operations

• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
• Execute ADP time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
• Manage commission data workflow, review for accuracy enter data and record commissions payable
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

• Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits

• Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.

• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance

• Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)

• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed

• Process and record manual checks as needed

• Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP

• Load import files received from HR Time and Attendance

• Research and email appropriate audience pending issues

• Entering and Recording payroll data and processing payroll

• Available to answer questions from staff regarding payroll processing
• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions as assigned

• Reconciles general ledger records with internal subsidiary ledgers

• Available to answer questions from staff regarding payroll processing

• Compile data and prepare a variety of accounting and measurement reports.

• Review and prepare account reconciliations on a variety of general accounts
• Available to assist stores and other departments when necessary

Qualifications

• Pursues work with insatiable energy and drive

• Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills

• Highly productive with minimal guidance or supervision while juggling multiple priorities

• Knowledge of company operations is helpful

• Highly computer proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Mail, ADP Payroll and Microsoft Great Plains Accounting Software
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs

• Sets high expectations. Drives performance towards outstanding results

• High School graduate required, along with higher education or accounting coursework

• Able to work varied shifts, hours, and days, including weekends and holidays

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Must have reliable transportation for assistance at stores when needed
