Payroll Specialist Rapid Bath Remodel Location: Remote/Hybrid
Job Type: Full-Time
About Us: Rapid Bath Remodel is a fast-growing remodeling company specializing in bathroom and kitchen transformations. Our business relies on a strong network of installers and subcontractors, making accurate and efficient contractor payments critical to our success.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Payroll & HR Specialist to manage a 1099-heavy workforce while supporting essential HR functions. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payments to subcontractors and employees, while maintaining compliance with contractor classifications and evolving labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll / Contractor Payments (Primary Focus):
- Process bi-weekly payments for a high volume of 1099 subcontractors and commission-based team members.
- Track and verify contracts, job completions, and payout structures for installers and sales reps
- Calculate commissions, payouts, and adjustments based on project performance and agreements
- Maintain accurate records of contractor agreements, payment histories, and supporting documentation
- Ensure proper classification of 1099 vs W-2 workers in coordination with leadership
- Assist with year-end reporting
- Resolve payment discrepancies quickly and maintain strong contractor relationships
HR & Compliance Support:
- Assist with onboarding of subcontractors and employees (agreements, documentation, compliance)
- Maintain organized records for contracts, insurance certificates, and licensing
- Support internal compliance efforts related to labor laws and contractor classification
- Partner with leadership to improve systems, processes, and documentation
- Act as a resource for questions related to pay, contracts, and policies
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll or contractor payment experience, preferably in construction or home services
- Strong experience managing 1099-heavy environments
- Understanding of independent contractor compliance and classification guidelines
- Experience with commission-based pay structures
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll/accounting systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage sensitive financial data with discretion
- Strong communication skills when working with both internal teams and subcontractors
