Graduate Psychology Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY:
Teaches for the graduate psychology, counseling psychology, and school counseling programs, participates in committee and governance work (as appropriate), academic advising, administrative tasks, and administration of the programs. Assists in administering the graduate psychology programs and works cooperatively with the constituencies at the Overland Park campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teaches in the graduate programs as determined by the Division Chair and Program Director. Teaching will generally be done in the evenings and may include some weekends.
- Advises graduate students regarding their academic programs and professional development.
- Assists with promotion and development of graduate and undergraduate programs.
- Assists in conducting program reviews of graduate psychology programs.
- Recommends changes in the graduate programs to the Program Director.
- In coordination with university divisions and the Program Director develops program literature and web pages.
- Accessible to colleagues, students, and administrative personnel.
- Maintains currency in his/her professional field.
- Participates in meetings and other committees as appropriate.
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Earned Ph.D. in psychology or closely related field.
- Creative, conscientious, and unafraid of new challenges.
- Effective public relations, presentation and organizational skills with proven ability tofacilitate groups of individuals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.
- May need to work non-routine hours as needed for events.
- Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
- Must pass required background screen as appropriate.
PREFERRED
- 3-5 years teaching and advising adult students
- 3-5 years clinical experience
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kansas or Missouri
