Mortgage Operations Specialist II

Description/Job Summary

Position Summary:

The Mortgage Operations Specialist II's primary responsibility is to process and close various types of consumer purpose real estate loans in compliance with the Bank's policies, procedures, and regulations. This position works closely with all areas of lending up to and including operations, servicing, audit and compliance.

Major Duties and Accountabilities:

• Takes part and embraces the Legacy Culture and gives outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  
• Reviews, organizes, and collates application and loan information to issue loan disclosures that are compliant with applicable lending regulations.
• Maintain accurate file status and complete files in the Bank's loan software so internal customers are informed about loan status at all times and loan files can be properly imaged for document retention.
• Communicates with Loan Officers, Credit Analyst, and Title Companies to ensure receipt of documents needed to close and resolve issues or questions regarding application information and ensure deadlines are met.
• Coordinates and balances closing transactions with title company or internal loan officer.
• Reviews credit memo and all relevant documentation to generate accurate and compliant loan documents for closing.
• Prepares loan files for funding & booking by making sure all documents are properly signed and dated.
• Formulate professionally written responses to incoming internal and external customer emails with accurate information and within the established timelines.
• Comply with all bank policies and procedures regarding areas of assignment and responsibility.
• Maintains current and up to date knowledge and continues professional development through training as applicable.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Required:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5 years banking experience OR
    • 1 year loan operations and bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related area.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritize and multitask duties with time sensitive deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred:
  • Previous loan operations experience.
  • Knowledge of Encompass, Navigator and Director software.
  • Knowledge of TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure rule.
  • Knowledge of loan terminology and elements/process required to close a loan.
  • Knowledge of general banking principles and federal and/or state regulatory lending laws.
