Job Description

Looking to elevate an HR/People function in a well-regarded, growing organization? Our privately-held client has manufactured precision equipment for more than 50 years with a prestigious list of clients in the motion picture industry. This newly created role will support expansion into other states and is supported by a talented HR generalist as well as planned hires in out of state manufacturing facility. This role is the head of HR reporting directly to senior leadership and will be involved in the design and deployment of all HR operations. You will be responsible for developing HR programs and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects. As both a builder and a doer, you will manage programs and lead staff across the full spectrum of people functions in this 150 person organization.

What you will do:

  • Develops programs and implementation plan recommendations to senior management for improvement of the company’s human resources management, including policies, procedures, practices and rollout schedules for all programs impacting people.
  • Works with senior management to ensure that all people programs, processes and communications support and enhance the company’s core values and mission.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads all activities of the HR department including goals, plans, objectives, and operations including key systems, processes and procedures.
  • Evaluates and advises management on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the organization.
  • Recommends new approaches, programs, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the company’s human resources department’s performance.
  • Develops new hire, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development and performance improvement and exit programs and works with management on implementation and tracking.Rolls out or enhances organization development initiatives including (but not limited to) new hire onboarding program, annual performance review and employee development planning/programs.
  • Maintains company compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all human resources matters.Communicates changes in company human resources policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Administer benefit programs.
  • Works directly with managers to ensure that they support the company’s values in managing their work groups and teams.
  • Oversees and mentors HR generalists at corporate office and those in out of state manufacturing location.


We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Strategic HR Leadership - Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Compliance Management - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and OSHA.
  • Standard HR Programs - Develop and deploy standardized HR programs, policies, and procedures across all company locations.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention - Oversee recruitment and retention efforts to attract and retain top talent in a competitive market.
  • Employee Relations - Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on all HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Training and Development - Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Benefits Administration - Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Team Leadership - Lead and mentor a team of corporate HR professionals and plant-based HR associates, providing guidance and support to facilitate their professional growth and development.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or relevant field; Master’s degree in human resources a plus. Demonstrated experience may replace degree.
