SEEKING MANUFACTURING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN/INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC

We are looking for a FULL TIME Maintenance Technician/Industrial Mechanic

The Maintenance/Industrial Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing packaging equipment and systems. In addition, the candidate will be working closely with the Plant Engineer to coordinate repairs, maintenance and new equipment installations to support their mission and maintain store operations.

This forest plantation absorbs all the carbon dioxide we emit as an energy-consuming, food manufacturing plant. About Us: In 1929, Nubar Hintlian founded our Company in the basement of a movie theater in Somerville, MA. He roasted a small quantity of nuts at night and sold them during the day to retail stores. During the late 1930s, the Company grew and moved its operations to a small two-story building in Charlestown, MA. Its line of customers expanded to grocery stores, ice cream makers, and candy stores. In 1950 the Company grew into a 5‐story building in downtown Boston, MA and later to its current location in Cambridge, MA 1979. It is currently producing a broad range of nut products in many different packaging sizes. Our customer-base has expanded to include every type of business and food-consumer market. Distribution is coast ‐to‐coast and even overseas.

Maintenance/Industrial Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of mechanical principles.
  • Preventative maintenance and routine maintenance of equipment and facilities systems
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations.
  • Confer with management and other personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Plan and install of machinery and parts in line with design plans and timescales and other duties as assigned

Maintenance/Industrial Mechanic Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on electro-mechanical intuition and abilities
  • At least three years of hands-on experience in fabrication and working with hand tools.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Electrical and Welding experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to think independently, as well as consistently collaborate and communicate with management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow up with Company safety, food safety and performance objectives in mind.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment.
  • Packaging equipment specific and PLC experience a plus.
