CREDIT ANALYST

FIRST STATE BANK AND TRUST

MONTICELLO OR CHAMPAIGN, IL

First State Bank and Trust is currently seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Credit Analyst. This role is pivotal in conducting comprehensive loan credit analyses for new and existing commercial and agricultural loan relationships, reviewing financial statements, and participating in loan committee presentations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create professional credit presentations that summarize the borrower's financial condition, evaluate repayment capacity, and collateral coverage. Make informed recommendations to loan officers and/or the loan committee.
• Monitor loan requests and assign risk ratings in accordance with established lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including credit bureaus, Experian Business Credit, the Risk Management Association, industry trends and other companies.
• Conduct research on industry-specific information from external sources and provide insightful analysis.
• Remain well-informed on current bank policies, rules, and regulations. Effectively interpret and communicate these standards to lenders.
• Complete required training associated with job function.
• Performs real estate appraisal reviews and internal evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent banking experience.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
• Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, particularly Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.
• A detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Training to be located in Monticello, IL.
