Job Description
Reid Petroleum is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with demonstrated experience in managing financial records and preparing financial statements. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions.
Primary Function
Serve our customers, both internal and external, by providing excellent customer service and performing a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. Observe confidentiality of customer and firm matters.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain financial internal financial reports.
- Documents process and assist in identifying improvement opportunities
- Assist with month-end close including preparation of select general ledger account reconciliations as directed by manager
- Maintain fixed asset records in Asset Keeper Pro software
- Assist with all incident reports and work with the insurance company on customer claims.
- Assist in the preparation of fuel and sales tax returns
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
- Compile data and maintain up to date accurate financial records. Develop automated spreadsheets
- Investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
- Respond to all customer inquiries
- Reconcile and resolve issues as they arise
- Prepare daily bank deposit
- Apply payments to customer accounts
- Prepare and distribute weekly reports
- Assist with financial analysis as requested
- Assist with audits as necessary
- Organize and maintain retention files for required period of time
- Maintain a positive work environment with a helpful, proactive attitude that solidifies a cohesive work environment
- Assist with other projects as needed
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or Business Management with an emphasis in accounting required.
- Three years prior experience in an accounting/financial reporting capacity preferred.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures.
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/receivable/general ledger systems and procedures.
- Ability to interact with employees and customers, both internal and external, in a professional, friendly manner.
- Ability to speak and write English
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
