Operations Manager

Responsible for managing all operations activities in a steel processing facility.

Familiarity with chemical metal cleaning and coating as well as processing systems such as plating, water treatment, chemical coatings and heat treating is a major plus.

The position requires an individual who can be a hands-on leader developing the workforce and taking ownership for success in the operations. A technical background with relevant experience and/or engineering background is required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide work direction for hourly employees.
• Utilize a planned approach to continually improve products, processes, and services to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Plans employee workload distribution and maintains weekly schedules.
• Supervises training of personnel and evaluates performance.
• Develop and revise Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Prepare reports, charts, and graphs to support daily operations as needed.
• Assist with Customer Audits, ISO audits, and Tours as needed.
• Understand SOP’s, work instruction, and train the workforce.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in management, Engineering, Related field, or Equivalent Experience.
• 5 – 7 Years Experience Managing in a Steel Environment or in a Heavy Industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Skills
• Good mathematical skills.
• Aptitude in database and worksheet programs (Excel, Word, QuickBooks)
• Strong verbal, written and analytical skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential job functions.
