Overview:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Field Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervision of field operations, managing commercial construction project tasks and monitor material, manpower, safety and schedules. ** PRIOR HANDS-ON COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** This is not an administrative role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The responsibilities of the Sr. Field Manager include field supervision of onsite work, including a focus on safety, quality, project schedule requirements, material delivery and installation, coordination between workforce production, ongoing interaction with project management and other activities focused on overall project success.
- Managing the daily construction in the field, to include QA/QC of the project
- Skills in communication with problem solving are critical for this position.
- Convey schedule, material, manpower and quality concerns.
- Coordinate RFI process.
- Coordinate/schedule inspections.
Field
- Work with Superintendent to resolve field problems
- Communicate changes, owner requests, etc. w/ Superintendent and Field Team
- Monitor each Subcontractor's scope of work to ensure that work is being completed
- Coordinate with Subcontractor's Superintendents and/ or Foreman
- Ensure all work is accurate, precise and of the highest quality
- Take an active role in understanding the technical aspects of the building, systems, materials, installation, procedures, etc.
- Take an active role in developing your expertise as a "builder" (I.e., why we build the way we build and what is special about each building type)
Requirements for this position include:
- Preferred Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or related field/ or 4 years of commercial construction supervision experience or equivalent combination of training, education and or related experience; strong preference for experience in large-scale commercial projects
- Ability to read/review and coordinate drawings and specs
- Ability to read shop drawings with TRE and offer constructability comments
- Successful candidates will also possess outstanding communication and time management skills, computer skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
