Job Summary:
The Sr. IT Specialist will be a hands-on position performing application administration and Network Administration and assisting with Helpdesk and Desktop support. This position will report directly to the VP, Information Technology. This position will be responsible for performing and maintaining the network, hardware support, application administration, desktop, and helpdesk functions.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with database set up and management.
- Assists with application administration duties.
- Works with desktop support.
- Assists with helpdesk, provides back-up technical support and assistance.
- Administers cybersecurity training for Employees.
- Administers local network security and VPN management.
- Performs physical security management and administration.
- Maintains lifecycle of IT hardware and software/licenses.
- Azure, SQL, and ArcGIS server administration & management.
- Work with various business units to ensure effective IT support.
- Leads software development projects. Reviews software demonstrations for potential process improvements or upgrades.
- Supports VP, Information Technology and IT Department on any IT related needs.
- Backfill IT duties and responsibilities when employees are unavailable or there is a particularly high volume of requests.
- Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
- 5 + years’ experience working in software development or network administration.
- 2+ years' experience working with database administration or application administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi.
- Experience managing VOIP.
- Experience in application administration.
- Knowledge of software engineering and best practices.
- Experience in managing desktop support and helpdesk.
- Experience with QuickBase.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of network design.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, ability to balance many projects at once.
