Responsible for Revenue/Receivable side of Balance Sheet and related general ledger accounts. Oversees and guides bank/cash reconciliations, cash balances and all bank accounts. Ensures Assessment income, receivables and unearned revenue accounts are accurate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes, monitors and modifies daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual procedures to facilitate accurate and timely internal and external financial processes and reporting.
Directly supervises Cash clerk to ensure complete, accurate and timely posting of cash transactions. Reviews and approves all Cash/Bank journal entries before posting occurs.
Reviews and monitors all Asset accounts, with the exception of Property, Plant and Equipment, and related accounts, which are handled by Staff Accountant – A.
Maintains all bank and cash transactions.
Reviews and posts payroll, accrued payroll and all related payroll/benefit accounts.
Prepares journal entries for review and posting.
Assists with monthly and annual closing processes.
Assists with financial statement and supporting documentation statement preparation.
Assists with year-end audit.
Sets work ethic example, and holds department to the same, through regular and responsible attendance, in accordance with projects and financial close needs.
Encourages and practices cross-departmental collaboration, serving as a reliable and responsible support system for the accounting and member services needs of all departments.

Educations and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field is preferred. A minimum 5 years general business, accounting and office experience. Excellent data entry skills and intermediate MS Word and MS Excel knowledge. Experience with general ledger software.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate accounting guidelines clearly to both accounting and non-accounting staff.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to identify variances and trends with accounting transactions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
