Warner Norcross + Judd LLP is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in Grand Rapids. This position provides secretarial and administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, aiming to enhance the ability of the firm to deliver exceptional client service in a cost effective, timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading and writing skills, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 

About the Opportunity
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation case management, including drafting and filing legal documents, organizing case files, and scheduling court appearances and meetings

• Prepare and proofread correspondence, memos, pleadings, briefs, forms and other documents in proper legal form, ranging from simple to very complex while fully utilizing firm technology 
• Proofread all documents to ensure accuracy, consistency and professional appearance
• Transcribe documents from dictation when needed
• Maintain electronic and hard copy open files according to firm standards
• Ability and experience with e-filing and electronic document management system (iManage)
• Perform other administrative duties such as docketing, calendar maintenance, travel, business expense reimbursement, conference room reservations, opening and filing mail

About You
• Legal secretary/legal studies degree preferred (equivalent experience considered)
• Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, with a focus on litigation is preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
• Excellent grammar and writing skills
• Ability to handle privileged and confidential information with discretion
