Senior Legal Assistant - Suit Department

Location: Southfield, MI
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Work Arrangement: In-Office

Position Overview

A growing law firm is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to support its Suit Department. The ideal candidate will have substantial legal assistant experience and a strong background supporting litigation matters. Candidates who have previously served in a lead or senior capacity are highly encouraged to apply.

Candidates from any legal practice area will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.

  • Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and related legal documents.

  • Monitor litigation deadlines and court activity.

  • Maintain case files and manage document organization.

  • Coordinate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.

  • Assist with trial preparation and litigation support.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff when necessary.

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of case-related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Legal Assistant experience preferred.

  • Previous litigation support experience strongly preferred.
