BASIC PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting equipment setup, troubleshooting, repair and performs corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance of all equipment and facility owned by WIKA.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:
• Provides Emergency/Unscheduled repairs of equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Observes equipment in operation to determine malfunction.
• Inspects used parts to determine replacement or upgrade of material.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Performs plumbing, carpentry, masonry, moving equipment, painting, etc.
• PM equipment – changing oil, belts, filters, clean equipment, as stated on work order
• Fabricate and modify parts to repair equipment
• Maintains industrial machines
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and drawings.
• May perform electrical troubleshooting and installation intermittently
• Complies with OSHA Safety and Health Rules
• Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by Maintenance Manager/Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School and five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, drawings and schematics.
• Must have the ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Have ability to speak effectively before groups.
• Must have demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as portions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must be able to apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Technician must have the ability to use logic and reasoning to reach a solution to problems.
• Mechanical and minor electrical experience required. Pneumatic and hydraulic experience is required. Good mechanical skills, manufacturing experience preferred, especially if it was in a “lean” environment. Technician must have the ability to monitor performance and be able to make improvements or take corrective action.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift weights
up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
