IT SPECIALIST
Our technology team consists of the people who keep our company running smoothly. We ensure that we have the right systems in place to manage our data, keep our security tight, and ensure that our employees have the right technology tools to do their jobs well and serve our clients.
The IT Specialist provides technical support to internal users and is the first point of contact for help desk ticketing support. This role is directly responsible for supporting the company's IT infrastructure and managing various support systems, including the phone system, account setups, workstations, and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
- Provide quality customer service while demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues for users effectively.
- Ability to translate complex technical terms into terms easily understood by the user.
- Able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and work successfully in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, structured environment.
- Perform software or hardware upgrades.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with team members to implement IT solutions and enhancements.
- Document and maintain accurate records of IT assets and support activities.
- Travel to company locations to perform break/fix work and troubleshoot hardware, services, and network-related incidents.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving computer hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and office productivity software.
- Experience with setting up and configuring computer networks (LAN/WAN).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
- An associate degree, A+, or similar technical certification is preferred.
- 1 or more years of service desk (help desk) experience
- 1 or more years of customer service experience
- Experience with PC hardware.
- Remote application support
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills on the telephone and in person
Other:
- Applicant must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Applicants must have a valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to travel to neighboring islands as needed.
