Job Description
The Lead Clinician (LC) is responsible for leading the clinical team to administer excellent client care to their clients with substance use disorders or mental health concerns. The LC is the task supervisor or intern supervisor for all Master level students in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. They also oversee CASAC students. The Leac Clinician is responsible to ensuring that the clinicians are working in an ethical guideline, following company protocols and standard of practice, and legal policies that are provided by New York State. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  •  Manage and run all clinical programs and services 
  •  Manage interns from various schools including but not limited to interviewing, schedule.
  • Development, coordination with Colleges or Universities, orientation and moral support.
  • Coordinate and assign clinicians with clients for all clinical programs. 
  •  Provide supervision to clinical staff and interns weekly.
  • Oversee clinical team and interns to ensure client confidentiality and privacy is adhered and all documentation is in order.
  • Maintain relationships with referral sources to maintain good standing in the community by regular phone calls to discuss partnerships.
  •  Ensure that the department is adequately staffed by appropriate team members.
  •  Provide training to all (new) incoming staff and interns regarding clinical programs and policies and procedures for each clinical program.
  • Perform annual performance reviews of the clinical staff.
  •  Provide annual and quarterly reports on clinical services to Director of Programming.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the 24 hour Substance use Hotline w/clinical staff.
  • Hold 24-hour Substance Use Hotline on a rotating basis with other clinical staff. 
  • Organize the department compliance with LICADD Employee Handbook, and all Code of Ethics and standards that are provided by the NASW and AMHCA.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison between the clients and the courts when documentation is needed for the individual’s case.
  • Ensure a firm grasp of all clinical and EAP operations to be able to step-in for programs where staff is needed.
  •  Meet with individuals, families, youth, and EAP Clients for counseling services on a limited basis 
  • Attend and/or oversee participation in community development initiatives as needed. 
  • Be a voice in the community advocating for clients and mental health services, education, prevention, and treatment.
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Direct Supervisor.
 

Qualifications and Skills:
  • LCSW or LMHC or equivalent for NYS- required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with demonstrated competency in providing outpatient mental health treatment modalities, alcohol and/or chemical dependency treatment, brief assessment and referral, and private psychotherapy practice
  • Time management  
  • Personable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
