UHCU's newly created Project Management team is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and highly organized Project Manager! As a Project Manager, you will provide high level project guidance, oversight, and support for all tactical projects within the Credit Union from initiation to closing phases of the project management lifecycle. In addition, you will play a crucial role in ensuring quality and timely project participation, mitigating against project roadblocks, while building and maintaining relationships with project team members, external stakeholders, and credit union leadership. Responsibilities:

As the first addition to the project management team, the Project Manager will partner closely with the Assistant Vice President of Project Management to interface with the entire credit union as well as individual departments to drive high-impact initiatives. A successful candidate will have demonstrated success with projects of all sizes on organization-wide and departmental scales while thriving in an interactive, people-centric environment to drive UHCU's goals for innovation and positive change.

Project Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of simultaneous, tactical-level projects from beginning to end.
  • Create project plans, establish resources requirements, deliverables and timelines/milestones for individual projects with the input from departments and leadership.
  • Assign project tasks and objectives to project team members, business partners and internal stakeholders and track milestones, deliverables, and project achievement.
  • Maintain and facilitate regular communication to ensure project team members are adhering to established direction & timelines and to provide regular and thorough status updates to stakeholders.
  • Assess project scope, budget, and timeline and mediate between departments to identify and resolve issues, escalating complex issues to the AVP of project management as necessary.
  • Assist with the development of strategic plans ensuring projects are in alignment with the Credit Union's business objectives.

Quality Assurance
  • Manage project resources and provide positive input and direction while ensuring quality participation of project team members.
  • Manage and divide project problems into component parts and address each individual project issue to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct regular reviews to establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables and ensure deliverables adhere to quality criteria.
  • Perform project closure activities on assigned projects, including but not limited to conducting lessons learned sessions, archiving documentation and providing ongoing support to ensure quality.

Vendor Management
  • Work with third-party project vendors to ensure project timelines are on time and that internal stakeholders are receiving necessary support from vendors. Ensure effective and efficient vendor resolution of any issues as they pertain to individual projects.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project scope and specification meetings with vendors and stakeholders to present project recommendations, risks/issues and alternatives, and identify and devise project contingency plans

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or another related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated hands-on project management experience with progressive responsibilities leading cross-functional teams to plan and successfully implement projects and initiatives of various sizes and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience with formal project management tools and methodologies (i.e., Jira, Basecamp, Smartsheet, Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and resolving conflicts and challenges during project planning, development and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, concepts and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task. Verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to work collaboratively and supportively with individuals, multiple stakeholder groups, management, and other organizational units to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high volume, work environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a CAPM or equivalent certification with the first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of demonstrated progressive project management experience with proven success working with internal and external teams to develop and implement large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in a banking or credit union setting with in-depth knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, or formal project management training.
  • Experience with the development and successful execution of project plans within budgetary guidelines including detailed timelines, assigned responsibilities, and available resources.
