Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, internal marketing, and outside partners to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Duties:
- Work with in-house engineers and external partners to design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components using CAD and modeling software and on-site work
- Conduct research to determine the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems
- Create detailed engineering schematics, diagrams, and drawings for new and existing mechanical systems
- Collaborate with other engineers and professionals to analyze project requirements and propose solutions
- Perform calculations and simulations to optimize equipment and system designs and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Test prototypes and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support during the manufacturing process
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical components
- Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, test results, and project progress
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing, documenting, and troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with engineering software for data analysis and simulation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience interacting with customers, vendors, engineers, and other professionals to identify opportunities and solve problems collaboratively
- Ability to work independently
- Strong team player
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Ability to travel within the US for product testing, installation, and commissioning activities
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with steam and hot water boilers (fire tube and water tube) and related heat transfer/recovery systems
- Experience with combustion systems
- Experience with equipment that produces, stores, consumes, or otherwise operates with pure Hydrogen and/or Oxygen
- Working knowledge of industrial codes and standards relevant to the above
- Familiarity with logic controllers and automation systems
