Senior Accountant

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is searching for a full-time Senior Accountant on its Minot, ND campus.

Pay: $65,000 to $75,000+, DOE, plus benefits

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

What You Will Do:

As a Senior Accountant, you play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organization by overseeing the accounting functions of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation including payroll, budget management, accounts payable, and financial reporting. You work closely with the Vice President of Finance and the Director of Finance to carry out the financial goals of the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership. This is a non-supervisory role.

Purpose:

You ensure accurate and timely financial results in a respectful and confidential manner

• Demonstrate a commitment to the Ranch mission and vision, and its culture of purpose, caring, and learning, and support a trauma-informed-care environment.
• Prepare biweekly payroll and related reports, accounts payable checks and electronic drafts, and monthly financial statements
• Compile and track an annual budget
• Reconcile donations between the donor software and the general ledger, and reconcile bank accounts
• Budget and track endowments and grant funds
• Track investment acquisitions and disposals
• Provide information and feedback for annual audits

Qualifications:

• Must pass a background check, including criminal, abuse, and motor vehicle
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Preferred knowledge of not-for-profit accounting practices
• Electronic accounts payable, payroll, and financial preparation experience
• Preference for ADP and/or Microsoft GP software experience
