Structural Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for ongoing and future C-130 aircraft structural systems.

Must be knowledgeable in the Mechanical Engineering principles. Must have experience in performing structural analysis, and have an understanding of aircraft structural properties,  in new or modified aircraft, including navigation, cargo, and engine system design requirements.  Must have experience in the development of technical reports, and the ability to develop comprehensive and accurate technical data documents. Must be able to interpret input for Air Force Technical Data Packages, Technical Orders and aircraft mechanical modification drawings and designs from various OEMs and in various formats.

• FCA/PCA
• Technical Data Package Compliance & Delivery
• CSI Management
• Risk Assessments and Mitigation
• Compliance with LCSE and OSS&E AFI’s supplements, and related documents
• Deficiency Reports (DRs)
• Joint Deficiency Reports System (JDRS) Management
• TO Validation/Verification &TCTO Compliance
• TO Request Change (RC) Response
• Hangar Discrepancy Auto 202 and TO 00-25-107 Response
• Airworthiness Process, Compliance and Certification
• Aerospace/Mechanical Theory, Maintenance Practices, Modification, and Operations
• Engineering IT Tools and Databases/System

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and/ or Masters in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics. 
  • 1-3 years of directly related Mechanical Engineering experience. 
  • Must have C-130 experience

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
