Press Technician/Stamping Press Operator

JOB TITLE: PRESS TECHNICIAN

POSITION REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Press Technician Operator responsibilities include installing and repairing parts on the press machines as needed along with testing inks to ensure the end product meets the needs of our customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• Setting up and running stamping dies in transfer and progressive presses.

• Review current settings and suggest/implement changes to improve the process.

• Record all production and scrap produced during the shift to management.

• Monitors press/dies and reports any abnormalities to management to have corrected.

• Inspect all incoming material prior to running to validate it is correct.

• Periodically inspects parts to ensure good quality parts are being produced.

• Follow all safety guidelines in line with provided training.

• Maintain a clean organized work area.

• Additional duties as assigned in line with normal production settings.

• Previous experience in stamping manufacturing required.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø 3 - 5 years working experience and technical training in with transfer, progressive, and line die applications

Ø Experience with roll feeds and smart-pac’s and ability to operate an overhead crane and drive a Hi-Lo required.

EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:

Ø Knowledge of various presses and welders, familiarity with die placement on bolsters, proper shut height and QDC

Ø Hi Lo, Overhead crane required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ø Manufacturing Unionized Environment

Ø Willing to work 2nd 2PM to 10PM or 10PM to 6AM 3rd shift, overtime and weekends

Ø Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations while working in “Just in Time” environment.
