We are currently seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined, and experienced Offset Press Operator to join our production team. This position plays a critical role in supporting press operations and ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Summary

The Offset Press Operator supports the Lead Press Operator in the setup, operation, and maintenance of offset press equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining production standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality work, understands pressroom workflow, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and operation of offset press equipment
  • Pull and stage paper stock for upcoming jobs; verify stock requirements against job tickets
  • Check and maintain ink fountain levels; prepare and stage PMS inks as needed
  • Monitor water levels, blanket wash tanks, and press wash supplies
  • Refill press wash containers and ensure consumables are properly stocked
  • Read and interpret job tickets to confirm production specifications
  • Maintain organized and clean press area to support efficient production
  • Remove finished goods from press and deliver to Bindery or Shipping
  • Return unused materials to warehouse inventory
  • Alert management if materials are unavailable or do not meet specifications
  • Report production issues to Supervisor, Account Manager, or Prepress as appropriate
  • Support other departments as needed to meet daily production goals
  • Meet company-established processing time and performance standards
  • Assist with physical material handling, inventory movement, and coordination with production staff
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Offset Press Operator or Press Assistant
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production instructions
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
  • Capable of lifting 40–60 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Willingness to work night shift hours
