AWT has the following position open in our Minneapolis, MN location:
The schedule for this position is WTF, Hours are - 4:20am to 4:40pm. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Requirements
Responsible for, but not limited to assisting press operators in press set up and run activities; to maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 80% of time):
  • Mount plates and ensure that all materials are brought to press for next job;
  • Refills press supplies as needed;
  • Returns supplies and materials to their proper place after job is completed off press;
  • Moves finished products to finishing area from press areas upon completion of the job in a neat and orderly fashion;
  • Assists in efficient and complete press change over;
  • Responds to operators requests promptly.

Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):
  • Catches off the press if needed;
  • Empty full dumpsters and trash containers as needed daily;
  • Sweep floor of plant as needed;
  • Perform other various plant support activities as requested by production supervision.
  • Be actively involved and interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of department workload, activities and performance.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated time and materials.
  • Assist with mentoring (training)

Physical Job Demands:
  • Able to work in a constantly changing set of activities;
  • Okay with getting dirty;
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. to waist level without assistance;
  • Requires a great deal of twisting, bending, walking and being on their feet;
  • Able to push a dumpster full of trash or be able to use a forklift (trainable);
  • Must be able to work at a pace consistent with press operator's needs.

Skills/Abilities to Meet Job Requirements:
  • General comfort with, and the ability to operate machinery and equipment;
  • Must read, write and understand English;
  • Able to take direction from supervisor and press operator;
  • Able to work in environment of changing priorities;
  • Demonstrated accuracy with numbers and information;
  • Punctual;
  • Safety conscious;
  • Forklift training;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma - OR equivalent GED preferred
