AWT has the following position open in our Grand Blanc, Michigan location:
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, Hours are - 5:30 pm- 2:00 am. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Required Job Duties
1. Practices safe work habits according to documented press practices and visual indicators (warning labels) of danger spots displayed on the press.
2. Maintains an organized work space daily, including cleaning press surface areas and proactively moving materials and carts for optimum use of space.
3. Sets jobs up according to documented process setups. Maintains samples of work produced for each job for traceability in the event of a customer concern.
4. Works closely with finishing operators to produce product with zero defects.
5. Notifies quality in the event that any nonconforming condition occurs. Initiates and contains any product that may jeopardize customer satisfaction . Fills out appropriate paperwork for containment activities.
6. Cleans tooling according to manufacturers recommendations.
7. Fills out required documentation for any re-tools required. Notifies production supervisor in the event of any damage to tooling.
8.Submits material requisition forms for any supplies required to minimize downtime and assure efficiency.
9.Performs daily press maintenance and notifies production supervisor of any mechanical problems. Records any equipment maintenance performed in the press maintenance book at each station.
10. Works with team members to accomplish goals and to recommend improvements in both product and process.
Requirements
• Manufactures product according to assigned schedule
• Completes paperwork to record and provide evidence of manufacture of parts according to internal and customer specifications
• Performs daily press maintenance as defined
• Uses tooling with care according to manufacturers recommendations
• Reports machine mechanical issues and documents
Key Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to move and lift 30 or more pounds continually throughout each day.
• Capable of operating flexographic equipment to produce print and blank labels
• Good basic math skills
• Basic keyboarding skills
• Focus and organized, very neat
• Desire to succeed in a culture of teamwork and accountability
• Speed in all tasks, with accuracy
• Ability to read electrical blue prints
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use a voltage meter
• To be able to understand the complexity of press inner gearing and components
• To understand the ink systems
• To be able to decipher all print issues
