BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Today Media Custom Communications is looking for a New Business Development Executive responsible for acquiring new publishing clients.

TMCC has over twenty-five years of experience creating publications, design and content that engage and energize readers. Industries include Tourism, Education, Healthcare and Business/professional associations.

TMCC is part of Today Media, a family-owned communications company that publishes award-winning city and regional magazines — Westchester, Hudson Valley, Delaware Today, Main Line Today, Bethesda Magazine and The Hunt — with 150,000+ monthly circulation. Websites for Today Media publications attract more than 4 million unique visitors/year.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven new business sales experience.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Extraordinary prospecting skills.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• A proficiency in sales/digital technology, including CRMs.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent community networking skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with the publishing industry.

• Identify and research potential publishing clients.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals.
• Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders.
• Monitor projects to ensure contracts are executed as agreed.
• Gather useful information from customer and competitor data.
• Make and give presentations to prospective clients.
• Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline.
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
• Track and report on the status of proposal components.
• Conduct ongoing market research.
