PURPOSE OF POSITION:

A Cook works under the Lead Cook/Sous Chef’s instructions in preparing and cooking menu items provided to customers. He/she is also responsible for keeping the workplace clean.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

EDUCATION: Relevant bachelor's degree or higher preferred

EXPERIENCE: Cooking experience of 1 year or more

CREDENTIALS: Culinary certificate a must. Advanced culinary certificate preferred.

• Must speak English fluent enough to be able to deal with customers and teammates
• Must possess general knowledge of the food and culture of a given field
• Must have general knowledge of contemporary American cuisine with Pacific Northwest influences
• Responsible for preparing ingredients for production according to recipes/directions
• Assists with food production
• Must be a good communicator and work well with other teammates and kitchen managers
• Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office
• Must demonstrate strong knife skills
• Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware
• Must know applicable laws regarding food safety and general kitchen operation
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
• Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when
  needed.
