Job Description

The APO Production Lead assists Production Supervisors and/or managers by overseeing assigned production area and ensuring procedures are followed, verifying compliance to maintaining quality standards, ensuring a safe work environment, and leading their production team to achieve business objectives such as yield, output, and efficiency. Work with Production Supervisors to prioritize and plan daily workload and employee assignments, coordinate overtime efforts and maintain production and quality standards, quantities, inventory transactions, product specifications and delivery dates.


The Production Lead’s primary responsibility will be to oversee line efficiency, daily and weekly cleaning, keep track and report production output and line status, close work orders and update daily production reports. The Production Lead also coaches, trains and mentors manufacturing employees, reviews and coordinates training while ensuring all employees are properly qualified to perform assigned duties. Promotes a work environment and employee culture of continuous improvement that supports APO Manufacturing goals and IMI’s Quality Policy and Quality System.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform initial training to new personnel and follow proper documentation practices.
• Read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Support and communicate departmental goals to achieve effective performance.
• Assist in coordinating production assignments consistent with the production schedule or plan and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Encourage, mentor & coach employees to enhance production goals, line efficiency and employee utilization rate.
• Routinely observe and verify manufacturing processes are performed in compliance with the established procedures, quality standards and in accordance to quality systems.

• Follow and enforce all established company policies and procedures while building and maintaining a positive and fair work environment and a culture of trust.
• Evaluate team members and provide performance feedback.
• Properly document and escalate employee issues or concerns.
• Investigate root cause(s) of non-conformances (i.e., NCP, audit, etc.), identify and execute corrective actions by expected completion date(s).
• Support real-time documentation completion and review for compliance to Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices.
• Review documentation for compliance to good manufacturing and good documentation practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and be understood.
• Intermediate computer knowledge and ability to utilize standard Microsoft Office computer software for data entry.
• Performs well under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
• Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation and can work independently with minimal supervision.
• 1 + yrs. Injection Molding, Assembly & Packaging Operations knowledge, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 1+ years of demonstrated ability to train, develop, coach and mentor employees, or equivalent experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit or stand for up to eight hours or throughout most of a shift with occasional walking. Occasional bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting. Moderate physical effort required equivalent to lifting 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Will work in a cleanroom manufacturing floor or warehouse with no abnormal hazards or risks. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust.
