Bookkeeper - Accounts Payable

We are rapidly expanding and are looking for a mortgage accounting clerk to support our lending team. Our ideal candidate will have experience in accounting or bookkeeping -- mortgage accounting is preferred, but not required. We need someone with a team-player attitude, great communication skills, and a keen eye for details and discrepancies. If this sounds like you, apply now!

$30 - $35 hourly

• Calculate reports that include taxes, interest, monthly payments, principal, and insurance for real estate mortgage loans
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and bank deposits in the general ledger
• Alert accounting manager or mortgage loan officer of any discrepancies on loan applications or financial records
• Assist the accounting department by completing clerical duties and providing general clerical support
• Confirm and input data such as mortgager name, legal description, loan number, loan amount, and payment amount into accounting software

• Keen attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills are assets
• Multitasking and organizational skills are imperative
• Proven accounting experience is necessary; previous experience in human resources, or as a securities clerk, control clerk, or staff accountant is valuable
• Microsoft Excel, accounting software such as QuickBooks, and 10-key data entry skills are necessary
• GED, high school diploma, or equivalent is required; some college is helpful
